Wisconsin in the Civil War. A one-session class from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Monday, March 12 at Luck High School, 810 S Seventh St, Luck WI. Register by noon Monday. See information below.

Calling all history buffs and everyone who enjoys a knowledgeable presentation!

Wisconsin's participation in the Civil War 1861-1865

As the young nation's 30th state, Wisconsin was the last state to enter the Union to balance out any slave state. Just before the war, Wisconsin had a court case to protect a runaway slave.

Instructor Dr. Larry Smetak will pose great topics to view the times, including:

  • Backing or not backing Lincoln's nomination?
  • Impact of immigrant influx
  • Caleb Cushing
  • The Iron Brigade
  • Share (and learn about) your Civil War ancestry ~ charts, maps, old documents and money.
