Ed Fisher to Run as Write-in Candidate For Burnett County Board
Ed Fisher of Siren says he will be a write-in candidate on the April 3 ballot for the open District 8 seat on the Burnett County Board of Supervisors.
That seat was occupied for the past 10 years by Chuck Awe, who decided to not seek re-election. No one filed candidacy papers during the filing period, so no candidate names will be on the ballot.
The District 8 seat represents Ward 1 of The Town of Daniels and Ward 2 of The Town of Wood River. It is a two-year term.
Fisher was born in Minnesota and has been a Wisconsin resident since age 18, residing in Hertel, St. Croix Falls and Osceola before moving to his current home on Waldora Road near Siren. He was a certified chef for 30 years and cooked at the Narrows and at Yellow River Inn.
His first job in meat cutting was at the former Holiday Grocery Store in Siren. He has been the Meat Department Manager at Fourwinds Grocery for two years.
“I want to thank Chuck Awe for representing us on the County Board. He did a fine job, and I hope to work for the district at the high standard Chuck set,” Fisher said.
Fisher previously served on the Town of Daniels Board. “I have some experience serving in local government, and I would appreciate your vote as a write-in candidate on April 3,” Fisher said.
