Margaret Engebretson To Oppose Sean Duffy for U.S. House of Representatives
As announced Thursday on her Facebook page, attorney and military veteran Margaret Engebretson of Balsam Lake will challenge Sean Duffy (R-Wausau) for the Wisconsin 7th District seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in the November election.
Engebretson’s formal announcement will be at a campaign launch event at noon-1:30p Monday, Feb. 12 at Richard Bong Veterans Historical Center at 305 Harbor Way in Superior. The public is invited.
The public is also invited to meet her at 5:30p Friday, Feb. 12 at the Polk County Democrats Monthly meeting at Village Pizzeria in Dresser. A special guest will be State Senator and gubernatorial candidate Kathleen Vinehout.
Engebretson is the secretary of the Polk County Democratic Party and a former Organizing Fellow for the Democratic Party of Wisconsin.
In her military service, she served in the U.S. Navy and with the 148th Fighter Wing of the Minnesota Air National Guard.
In previous jobs, she worked as a deputy sheriff and a corrections officer at the St. Louis County Jail. She also worked for Burlington Northern & Santa Fe Railroad as a train dispatcher and locomotive electrician.\
She received her law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School and studied history as an undergraduate at University of Wisconsin - Superior.
